online resources

  • Scratchpad.io
  • It's a fullsize live HTML editor; you tweak code on one side, and the other side instantly updates with each change you make. I've used a live editor for two or so years, mostly doing little HTML experiments. This one has its flaws, so here are some equal alternatives:

Gitlab HTML Editor = The same thing, with some aesthetic differences and also support for anchored layouts.

Dreamtemplate HTML Editor = Allows for aesthetic changes such as text wrap toggling and custom text size and scheme, supports location of local image files on your computer.

  • Waifu2x
  • An online tool that doubles the resolution of your artwork (and reduces noise/artifacts) using a neural network. It's remarkably useful.

    FREE GRAPHICS PROGRAMS

  • GIMP
  • A general graphics editing tool. Powerful and chock-full of features.

  • Krita
  • Quite possibly the best free painting software I have ever come into contact with.

Other popular alternatives include FireAlpaca and Medibang Paint (these two are actually quite similar in their functions and workspaces).

  • InkScape
  • A vector editing tool meant to resemble Adobe Illustrator's capabilities.

  • Blender
  • 3D editing and rendering software. It's really fun to use once you get the hang of it!

    adoptable sites

  • Dragon Cave
  • A collector's game, where essentially you raise as many dragons as you want on your 'scroll'.
Tales of Ostlea is a surfacing alternative.

  • Pixpet
  • A recently opened adoptables game where you raise and evolve Pixpets, and collect items for use in home decoration, cooking, etc. An offshoot of Dragonadopters, an awesome dragon-raising site that shut down many years ago. *nostalgia*
